According to Mr Nguyen Ngoc Thai, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has been actively implementing the preparation of New Year welcome activities as planned. However, the COVID-19 epidemic has been still happening very complicatedly in the world and the resurgence of a number of cases in the community in Ho Chi Minh City also has a certain impact on the situation of the country in general and Phu Yen province in particular. Therefore, ensuring the safety of the community before the COIVD-19 pandemic is very necessary and especially important. “The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism especially pays attention to preventing and controlling the COVID-19 epidemic when organizing spring activities to celebrate Tan Suu Lunar New Year 2021. In 2020, Phu Yen as well as other provinces and cities in the country have thoroughly grasped and strictly followed the directing documents of the Secretariat, the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on stopping festive activities completely to focus on preventing COVID-19 epidemic to ensure safe conditions for the festival organizers and participants.
