The Ho Chi Minh City delegation led by Ms Phan Thi Thang, Member of the Standing Committee of the City’s Party Committee, Vice Chairwoman of the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, worked with the leaders of Phu Yen province on the tourism promotion program between the two localities, under COVID-19 safe adaptation conditions.

The program aims to promote the tourism industry to recover and develop on the basis of promoting tourism connectivity, promoting the potential and advantages of the value of tourism resources in each locality.
Addressing at the conference, Phu Yen PPC Chairman, Mr. Tran Huu The affirmed that Phu Yen province and Ho Chi Minh City have, so far, had close ties and cooperation in a number of fields. Implementing the cooperation program for tourism development, over the past time, the two localities have actively implemented cooperation contents and achieved encouraging results such as: the number of visitors to the localities has been increasing day by day; tourism products have been improved in quality and quantity; besides, it’s also to build connections of many tours and tourist routes; attract many tourism investors… Thereby, it helps to contribute to promoting tourism development between the two localities.
The two sides said that the conference is very necessary, strategic, promoting tourism cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City and Phu Yen province, bringing many rich, diverse and effective tourism development programs. At the same time, it’s to create conditions for tourism and travel service businesses to meet and develop cooperation in safe conditions, adapting to the COVID-19 epidemic.
The Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, Ms Phan Thi Thang thanked the leaders and people of Phu Yen province for sharing and supporting the city in epidemic prevention and control. Although Ho Chi Minh City still faces many difficulties due to the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic, many production, trade and service activities have been gradually returning to a new normal. Particularly, the tourism industry, which suffered the most damage, has also made movements and gradually recovered.
Ms Phan Thi Thang said that over the past time, Phu Yen province is one of the localities that organizes the most methodical welcome for people stuck because of the epidemic from Ho Chi Minh City to their hometown. Currently, businesses are back to work, hoping the provincial leaders will create favorable conditions for people to return to Ho Chi Minh City to work.
According to the Department of Tourism of Ho Chi Minh City, over the past time, Phu Yen Tourism has been invested in development and has its own attractiveness when becoming a destination to attract tourists from the southern provinces and Ho Chi Minh City. Phu Yen’s tourism products focus on natural and cultural strengths such as: sea and island tourism products, cultural tourism products… Besides, Phu Yen province has been always proactive and actively to participate in promotional activities, tourism promotion, cultural programs and events organized by Ho Chi Minh City.
Leaders of the two localities agreed to open tourism from November 1st, 2021, in the spirit of safety in epidemic prevention and control. Currently, Phu Yen province has a set of safety criteria for the tourism industry, however, on October 18th, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism also issued a new set of guidelines. Therefore, in order to be able to unify safety criteria for the tourism industry, businesses convenient in organizing tours, the province needs to update and supplement new regulations. Localities, businesses and visitors must have responsibilities, in which the locality ensures safety, effective businesses, and peace of mind tourists.
On this occasion, Ho Chi Minh City gave Phu Yen VND 500 million and gifts to prevent and control the COVID-19 epidemic.
