There is no place in the land of “green grass and yellow flowers” possessing deep cultural sediments with a long history like the land of Tuy An. Coming back Tuy An land is like returning to “fairyland” with natural heritages and cultural heritages associated with the process of forming and developing this land. It is also an extremely valuable resource that has been reserved, promoted and brought about especially important values for tourism development.

Among the monuments and landscapes at national level and special national level of Phu Yen province are ranked, Tuy An district possesses 8 relic sites: Da Dia reef, Thi Thung mound tunnel _ the place of occurring the massacre of Ngan Son – Chi Thanh, Le Thanh Phuong Tomb and Temple, White Stone pagoda, An Tho citadel, O Loan lagoon, populations of Yen islet. In particular, Da Dia reef is ranked as a special national scenic spot and it is also the destination that Vietnam Record Organization has ranked Top 20 most popular tourist destinations when coming to Vietnam!
Typical cultural heritage
The special national scenic relic of Da Dia reef with stacks of hexagonal rocks running long into the beach, rampart and erect stone veins, running diagonally to form a giant block on the blue sea. As perceived by the elite musician and artist Ngoc Quang, it is a wonderful natural painting that is no less famous than Ha Long Bay or the legendary Phong Nha: “… Not only the magnificent Ha Long, and not just mystical Phong Nha, my hometown Da Dia reef is humble by the sea, and fascinated with the haughty beauty…”. Then the picture appeared suddenly, overwhelmed: “Rock, rock, rock. Rocks are piled up, rocks are lined up in a row, rocks are sprawled like a picture of grace in the homeland of bright yellow flowers…”.
The populations of Yen islet _ another national scenic spot of a few nautical miles away also has similar rocky geological structure with deep black basalt veins, standing up into columns, square, sharp… Yen islet rise to the sky, a unique feature of rock, water and the harmony of nature…
From the sea to the mountainous communes of An Linh and An Xuan, those who are passionate about exploring and experiencing will have the opportunity to admire the vertical cliffs associated with the waterfall and lake space, creating a very beautiful natural picture in mountains and forests. These are gulfs of Tra Coi, Ho Tron (An Xuan commune), Song valley, Hom valley (An Linh commune). From above the water poured down the steep cliff, below is a crystal clear blue lake, like a water-ink painting.
Stone is present in all daily life to the people of Tuy An land. Many rural areas such as An Tho, An Linh, An Ninh Dong, An Hiep, An Thach… still have many stone paths, stone wells, stone fences, stone tombs, stone warehouses… In the past, stone was associated with life of ancient residents in this land, it becomes a musical instrument in cultural and spiritual life. The pair of stone trumpets, the unique tools and the best sounding rock instrument are considered treasures dating back over 2,500 years, discovered on Tuy An land as vivid proof.
Tuy An district is also a land of rich history and cultural depth. Many relics and landmarks have been attached to the names of historical and religious celebrities such as An Tho citadel, Le Thanh Phuong Tomb and Temple; White Stone pagoda, Mang Lang church, Co Lam – Hoi Ton pagoda, 500 ancient tombs on A Man mountain…
Tuy An cuisine with famous dishes recognized by the Vietnam record organization such as O Loan cockles in the Top 10 famous seafood specialties of Vietnam, O Loan oysters in the Top 20 delicious and strange dishes of Vietnam. Traditional festivals and craft villages in Tuy An district have been formed for a long time, containing the typical culture of the land.
Tourism development in association with cultural heritage
According to the master plan for tourism development in Phu Yen province: “Tuy An is located in the sea and island tourism space of Song Cau town and its surroundings”. With its convenient location, tourists can access this space by road, rail, sea or air through Tuy Hoa or Phu Cat (Binh Dinh) airports. This is the main space of sea and island resort tourism with many beautiful pools, bays, lagoons and sandy beaches bringing high tourism value.
With the goal of building a district to reach new rural standards by 2023 and becoming a town by 2025, Tuy An district has been concentrating resources to develop infrastructure, marine economy, tourism services…
In order to gradually develop local tourism, the District Party Committee and District People’s Committee have strengthened the leadership and direction in formulating tourism development strategies and plans, continued to mobilize resources for investment in infrastructure, especially traffic to tourist destinations; built mechanisms and policies to mobilize capital sources; organize surveys and planning orientations for a number of typical tourist and service spots of the district; developed a list of priority projects to attract investment in tourism and services; strengthened investment advertisement and promotion activities, call on potential investors to invest in tourism, service development, form tourist spots, gradually diversify tourism products and form featured products; continued to thoroughly grasp and raise awareness of officials, party members and people in the district about the position and importance of tourism development; actively mobilized “each citizen is a tour guide”; paid attention to protecting the tourism environment, increase planting trees and flowers to create environmental landscapes; propaganda implementing the Code of Conduct in tourism activities of the province has been issued…
